17th-19th Sep.
The adventure started early on September 17th, at 6am, as I had to take the bus to Bilbao airport. At 6:30am we were already at the station, where we met Eva and her parents. We arrived in Bilbao at 8am, but just as we were about to get to the bus station, we ran into a huge traffic jam. Fortunately, we made it in time to catch the bus to the airport. I was so sleepy that I almost forgot my phone on the other bus.
We arrived at the airport around 9am. Although I was calm, my mother was very nervous. We checked in our bags, said goodbye to our mothers, and a flight attendant guided us to the plane. We had a stopover in Paris, where we arrived at 12 noon and had to wait until almost 5pm. Another flight attendant picked us up and took us to another terminal at the airport, which I believe is the second largest in Europe. The flight was supposed to leave at 17:30, but it was first delayed until 17:45 and then until 18:20.
We finally arrived in Brest at 19:30, where the host families were waiting for us. Matéo and his mother picked me up by car and we headed to their house. That evening we had burgers for dinner and had a very nice conversation about our customs to get to know each other better. At the end of the day, I went to sleep at 11, ready for my first day of school the next day.
Thursday was quite a busy day. I woke up at 7:10 AM and, after having breakfast with Matéo, his mother took us to school. There was a meeting for the Erasmus+ students, where we were given a notebook and some materials. Later, a classmate named Lila gave me a tour of the school, which is huge. Throughout the day, I attended classes and in the afternoon we went shopping at a hypermarket in a nearby town called Le Relecq-Kerhuon. We ended the day at Matéo's sister's house, where we played video games and ate a snack.
Friday was calmer. I got up at 6:30 AM and while Matéo was in class, I waited in the cafeteria because I started later. Then, in History class, we learned about Pericles and the Peloponnesian War. In Spanish class, we saw some expressions like "me caes bien." Afterwards, I had lunch with Matéo and his friends during recess. In the afternoon, in French class, a classmate helped me copy what the teacher was dictating. At the end of the day, we went back home, did some homework, and had dinner before going to sleep.
