20th-22nd Sep.

 The 20th started at the CDI (the library) where I stayed with Eva and the Spanish people. Then I had Chemistry class, but had a trouble finding the classroom. I finally arrived on time and we did a chromatography experiment, although I couldn't take any photos. During lunch, I met up with the Spanish people, their French correspondants and two other girls. It was a nice meal. Then I had Geography and French, and when the classes were over we went home to rest. During the afternoon, I played video games with Matéo and one of his friends until his sister picked us up to go to dinner at a creperie with some of his family. I tried both savoury and sweet crepes, as well as a fruit smoothie. We returned home around 10 and went to sleep.



The Saturday started calm, writing the blog, but at 12:30 Matéo connected two controllers to the PlayStation and we played together before lunch. At 3pm we met up with three of his friends to visit the Brest castle. Just as we left, it started to rain, but we managed to catch the bus on time. There weren't many things in the castle, but we walked around for a while and, when we left, we found an orchestra playing because it was the heritage day. Later, we walked down a street full of shops and went to a mall where we saw clothes, perfumes and some other things. We had a good time exploring the shops. After Matéo's friends left, we bought something for dinner and when we got home we watched several episodes of a French series called "LOL", where the participants must not laugh or they are eliminated. We also watched the Spanish version, which was very funny. 


Day 22, Sunday, started with a trip to buy some cakes with Matéo's mother. We went to have lunch at the home of some family friends in a coastal town called Landéda, about 30 minutes from Brest. There we enjoyed a delicious barbecue and several cakes for dessert. Although I have a hard time keeping up when people speak French quickly, I had a good time. After lunch, we took a walk along the beach, with very white sand, and I took the opportunity to take some photos. We returned to the house and then drove back to Brest, where we finished the day watching a fun movie on the projector. I went to bed early because we had to get up early the next day.

  These past few days have been pretty much the same in terms of routine. Every morning, as usual, I went to class where we continued with the syllabus and taking notes. The atmosphere in class is quite pleasant, and little by little I am socializing more, both with my classmates and with the people from Alcoy, with whom I have been able to talk a little more during lunch and CDI hours. Although at first everything was a little new, I am already feeling more comfortable in the environment. On Wednesday afternoon I went out with Mateo, his mother, his sister and his nephew. We went shopping to find a new pair of shoes for the kid. Sometimes, doing simple things like shopping can be a good way to get to know people better. Although these days have not been particularly busy, there have been times that have allowed me to continue connecting with the people around me, both in and out of class. I am starting to feel more integrated and to enjoy the experience, which makes this stay more...

Today we woke up early because we were supposed to go to the funfair with some of Mateo's friends. Although we arrived on time, it was difficult to find them because the market was huge. In the end, we walked around the stalls and rode the bumper cars, which was a lot of fun. Afterwards, we went to Siam Street, which is full of shops, and had lunch at McDonald's. Later, we went back to the funfair, rode several rides and had a great time. At the end of the day, we were exhausted, but we really enjoyed the day. In the morning, we went with Matéo's mother to the market to buy ingredients for the meal with their family. After shopping, we went back home, where we met up with his sister Rose and her boyfriend to cook. Later, more family members arrived and we all ate together. After lunch, we played a board game called Mysterium for a while. In the afternoon, we accompanied Matéo's mother to a small nearby village, Plougastel-Daoulas, where she had to cut a friend's hai...
